Meet Aidan O’Connor, Jr.

As a fourth-generation resident of Greene County who has sought out one opportunity after another to serve his community, Aidan O’Connor Jr. has brought character, commitment and results to his community.

Aidan has called Greene County his home since his childhood where he has lived and worked ever since. While still a student at Greenville High School, Aidan began volunteering for the Greenville Rescue Squad. He quickly fell in love with the first responder professions, and after graduation earned his paramedic certification through SUNY Cobleskill at just twenty years old.

Aidan has provided critical-care medicine to hundreds of patients as an EMS for the Town of Catskill, Ski Windham, Greene County Emergency Medical Services, Inc. and the Greenport Rescue Squad. and at LifeNet helicopter team for twenty-seven counties surrounding Albany. Aidan is a New York State Certified Instructor Coordinator and American Heart Association Instructor and helps train the next generation of EMTs and Paramedics at SUNY Cobleskill and Columbia County EMS Courses.

As President of the Board for the Greene County Paramedics Aidan insured that the town and county budget contracts saw no increases, even as lifesaving new equipment and medications were being introduced.  As the Elected Chair of the Greene County EMS Council, Co-chair of the Greene County Ambulance Task Force and New York State Advocacy Coordinator for the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians, Aidan has worked across party lines in Albany and Washington, D.C. to pass legislation that improves patient outcomes while strengthening medical first responders.

Aidan now serves the Greene County legislature representing Durham winning votes from voters of all major parties. Aidan is the Chairman of the Health Services Committee and has become a member of the Country Resources Committee and the Economic Development & Tourism Committee.  Aidan now works for LifeNet as a Regional Business Development Manager, bringing his leadership and business skills to the company where he once provided critical-care medicine by helicopter.

Aidan is running to be the Assembly Member for District 102, building on a lifetime of service to his community and home.  Through energy, leadership and service Aidan will continue to make Upstate NY the best it can be!
